Wow!
They Really Work!
Webmaster, Equipment SpecialistUnlivable...the way they work...I just put a pair on ...then turned them on here in the computer lab; WOW!
I am sitting directly below a large ceiling mounted air cleaner which is set to "high". The noise level is below the level i am familiar with while traveling around the world; however the level is uncomfortable. As soon as I turned this headphone on, the noise level instantly dropped. Amazing.
I still here the noise but at a much lower level and I here the clicking of the keyboard just fine and the phone ringing.
Now for the next test..I will be field testing these headphones on my next expedition to Pacifica; the islands and the land down under. I am use to traveling across the Pacific ocean on 13 and 15 hour flights to Japan and Australia; these headphones are a must!
The Noise Canceling Circuitry Works Independently of headphones; meaning you can use these to cancel noise levels without plugging the headphones into any device.
The Top Active Noise Reduction System in the World.
NoiseGard Mobile Stereo headphones with Active Noise Compensation for mobile applications. With the NoiseGard system, Sennheiser have come up with an effective solution.
NoiseGard are dynamic stereo headphones which, in addition to transmitting an audio signal, also actively compensate low-frequency noise. This active noise compensation functions according to the physical principle that noise and anti-noise (exactly reversed sound waves) cancel each other out.
- When you are wearing the NoiseGard headphones, you will still be able to join in conversation - the voice of the person talking to you is scarcely changed, since the speech frequency is practically unaffected by the active compensation.
- Warning or emergency signals remain audible.
- Understanding speech is even improved by NoiseGard, as upward-masking by low-frequency sound is eliminated.

The unit of measure is the decibel (dB). A noise reduction of 10dB is generally perceived as a halving of the noise level. If the noise is reduced by a further 10dB, this is perceived as a 75% noise reduction, and so on. Return To Top of Page

Professional World Adventurer, And Equipment Specialists, Mr. Gene Casanova, has completed field testing of the Sennheiser's NoiseGard headphones, during a 2003 professional world adventure to Fiji and Melbourne Australia; A 21 hour journey from Milwaukee WI! There were many cross-over flights, which included flights over the Pacific ocean lasting 11 and 13+ hours! The noise canceling headphones were outstanding! The Sennheiser's NoiseGard headphones were superior in performance, and were comfortable to wear during the long flights. An unexpected side benefit, was a noticeable lack of "jet lag" and tiredness after the flights. These headphones actually reduced "jet lag" effect to almost zero! Wow, I will never again fly without the use of noise canceling headphones like these. This technology has just reinvented air travel for me. Your return on the initial investment in purchasing a set of higher grade noise canceling headphones is paid back on your first long flight, in reducing your "jet lag", which is personal downtime. Downtime saved! The initial price may look high to many traveler's, but I offer this advise. What is the cost of your down time from jet lag when you get to your dentition and what is the loss in flight comfort and ability to sleep during long flights? The intelligent flier has by now, already realized the huge benefits and is looking through the selection below. Mr. Casanova.
UPDATE - NOW THE STANDARD PIECE I CANNOT LEAVE HOME WITHOUT! Since The Discovery, I Have Been Enjoying Jet-Lag Free Traveling Across The Equator, Across The Date Lines, After 14 Hour Plus Flights! Absolutely Wonderful.
UPDATE - Airplane Headphone Adapters Still Required! Recently On An Adventure To new Zealand, I Was Surprised To Find The Outdated Dual Mono Headphone Jacks At The Seats In The Economy Section Of A Qantas 747-400 That Was Outfitted With A Fantastic Personal Entertainment Center. I Could Nonbeliever It... Every Seat Seem To Have Its Own LCD Video Screen Mounted In Front of The Seated Passenger, And A Cool Handheld Controller To Call Up Movies, TV Shows, News, Games, Music... However, I Left My Guard Down By Not packing The Headphone Adapter (I Simply Did Not Fly On A Plane With This Outdated Dual Mono Jack System in The Last 10 Years.). So Now I Advise Everyone To Pack Along A Gold Platted Airline Headphone Adapter.
